Book Review: A Descent of Dragons by Jasmine Young

Reviewed: August 15th, 2023

Genre: Epic Fantasy

One hatchling’s fall will break a continent.

A hatchling will descend from the skies.

It will forever change the fate of one rider.

But this is far from a dragon. Better that it had never come at all.

This is the portentous truth about what caused it to fall into the world of men…

An event that will precede the breaking of a continent.

Helen’s thoughts: 5/5

This is a very short but powerful introductory story for the Norse inspired RealmBreaker series. Only available to newlsetter subscribers, and it is well worth the read.

A wonderful introduction to Young’s new epic fantasy tale.

Bael’s are destructive dragons, born only to destroy everything in their path. All nine realms of mankind, Elves and Dwarves fear them. After his traumatic hatching, you already want this Bael to live, no matter what history says.

You also get the first chapter of Realm Breaker where we meet Skaldar, destitute and underfed yet gutsy and determined, who must be the perfect match for him, if only they can find each other.

Can’t wait for Realm Breaker to release. I just love the covers, the Bael looks gorgeous and suitably dangerous. If you’re not signed up to Young’s newsletter, then you should sign up now.

If you enjoy fantasy books then you will love my epic fantasy Sentinal series or the Romantic Fantasy SoulMist series. As a new threat against Remargaren is discovered, only one man can wake the ancient guards who can protect them, only he doesn’t know how. Start the adventure and stay for the journey.
