When a group of soldiers calling themselves Guardians rescue him from a back alley ambush and claim to have the answers he needs, he agrees to go with them. Especially when they tell him the attackers were vampires. But nothing in this supernatural underworld is as it seems, and when the silver-eyed commander cages him instead, Michael’s answers slip further away.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Enter a magical world of vampires, shapeshifters and witches. Michael is a channeller only he doesn’t know it. He knows something is off, especially as most electronic devices short out as soon as he touches them, but not why. And then he is saved from a kidnapping only to be rescued by another group calling themselves Guardians, who imprison him anyway.
Michael’s world is turned upside down, and while he grapples with his powers, he really doesn’t know who to trust, or what to believe. I loved the snarky sass versus the softer more lovable Michael when he is in the throes of a flame overload, and can’t keep his hands off Gabriel.
Being a Channeller comes with its risks and side effects, one of which is a raging need for sex. A gift from the goddess. The trouble is, Michael believes he’s straight, but not when he is in the vicinity of Gabriel, a commander in the guardians, and irresistible.
Great story, wonderful characters, well written with plenty of action, tantalising enemies and sizzling sex to keep you turning the pages, and if you want an even steamier MM read, there is a free novella going into graphic detail about Michael’s adjustment to who he is and what that means.
