Riley thought he knew what to expect from college, but he never planned for angels, demons, or a team of attractive, overprotective Guardians.

When one fateful night opens his eyes to a world he never knew existed, Riley Shepard must navigate a host of supernatural dangers, all while struggling with new and confusing feelings for his guardian angels. With the promise of friends, family, and freedom finally within his grasp, he fears not only for his heart but for his life as well.

Lucky for him, some things are worth dying for.

Helen’s Thoughts: 5/5

This is an tale that tugs at your emotional heart strings. Riley is a adorable hero, with overwhelming issues that almost incapacitate him. To be honest I am surprised he is still able to function. His protective mechanisms would destroy most people. They are all explained, and the author is obviously knowlegable on the subject, but it is excrutiating.

I feel very sad, or maybe angry, that his guardian angels failed him so badly. That these angelic guardians were supposed to protect him, and yet they allowed him to be abused in such a basic fashion, and didn’t interfere, that is is almost uncomprehensible.

Add to that Riley’s sexual awakening, a cadre of gorgeous angels, and it is no wonder he is confused and emotionally compromised.

If the first book is anything to go by, I am sure this is going to be an emotional rollercoaster, and I’m not sure who is going to save who. I must admit I’m not sure I’ve got the stamina for this series. I love the characters, but I have no doubt there is much pain to be endured, and I am sure you need to be in a certain mindset to survive it.
