This beautifully written fantasy romance tale is Lopez’s debut novel, though you wouldn’t know it. Her world and the characters within it are very well developed and she hooks you from the first chapter as you want to know who Ria is, and what her secrets are.
This is a story of the past affecting your decisions and how you make them. The challenge is knowing what the truth is, when the people you love make dubious decisions. Finding the right path through difficult situations is at the core of this story.
Tristan is a lovely hero, kind and true. One who will throw a wrench in Ria’s plans. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you engaged, and you won’t be able to put the book down. The supporting characters are just as intriguing; I am glad to see Liam and Isarra got their own book.
The harmonic magic is interesting, and I look forward to finding out more about it and the mages which were really only mentioned in passing, along with the stormlarks and the starmartens kindred spirits which were adorable.
A very enjoyable read, and I look forward to reading more books from this author.
