Since his father’s murder by shadowy monsters, Adrian has been driven to discover who and what they were. Swearing to the Order of the Shadow Dragon, against his mentor’s advice, Adrian embarks on a lonely quest to find the truth behind the mages’ whispers.
So starts an unendorsed adventure, as Adrian collects a band of outcasts, all with their own agendas, but with skills that might assist him.
A great mix of characters, a touch of steampunk with the airships, and plenty of threats to drive the quest forward. As always, all is not as it seems, and the story builds to a well written finale, suitably chaotic and full of action.
An enjoyable story that gets better the more you read. The ending is truly well written, with so much going on you barely get a chance to draw breath.
