There’s something about Philippe Arsenault that draws Rafe in. He wants more of Philippe. The vampire leaves him longing for another second in his presence, another taste of his lips, another caress of those perfect fingers.
Yet when it’s all over, what will become of Philippe and Rafe? Because Philippe will always be an Arsenault, and Rafe will always be a Varik.

I love every character that Jocelynn Drake creates. There is always a vulnerabilty beneath the hardened exterior that makes them so relatable. And of course you want each of them to find their HEA even if some of them take the long way around.
The Variks are a family more than a clan. The four brothers were turned into vampires so they could protect their mother from herself. This book is about the second eldest brother, Rafe. Of all the brothers, Rafe is the debonair playboy. Happy go lucky and successful on the surface, yet there is more to him than he lets you see. He is the distraction that allows his brothers to do what they need to, to succesfully protect their family.
Philippe is the perfect foil for him, and it doesn’t take long for sparks to fly. As Rafe helps investigate mysterious disapperances from Phillipe’s clan, he realises that maybe he’s finally met his match. But Phillipe is the head of his clan, and leaving Rafe’s family is not an option, so how can they ever be together?
Great series, great characters. An easy five stars from me!
