Introversion is illegal in 2084.
But the lovely people at Friendlee.Face.s, a front for the SUPER.V1S.1ON corporation, insist this is for the betterment of Earth.
All those deemed introverted are lazier and less productive than the most recent incarnation of artificial intelligence.
And with the latest wave of brainwashing, most have accepted this reality.
But Luccee Winterscott refuses to comply.
Her only hope is to escape Earth on her terms and find a planet with different rules.
Or even better, a distant, uncharted star with no rules at all.
She will find such a place.
And with the help of the alien race Coodaura, and a group of forgotten misfits, she will find her tribe.
She will find love.
She will take on the SUPER.V1S.1ON.

An enjoyable tale of self-discovery in a world that represses free thought or anything classed as ‘different’ behaviour. Cleverly written, with great imagination and relatable characters in Luccee and John, and interestingly you also empathise with some of the AI’s as well. Especially her d-zero-g, TAG.S.
Reminsicent of the Wizard of Oz, with the young woman dropping accidentally into a new world and changing everyone and everything around her, along with the reclusive farmer, timid bear man, intellectual AI and dog!
Being introspective is not allowed in the eyes of the authority who are on a mission to create the perfectly behaved human, which interestingly enough is not human at all. This story is a great reminder of how individuality and odd quirks are what make us human, how we differ and complement each other enable us to succeed, and that is something to be celebrated not erased.
Interesting take on how social media and AI can replace common sense and humanity if we let it. How decisions for the greater good can suffocate individuality and free thought.
Great book. You should read it.
