What if you had to give up your divine powers—and no worthy goddess candidate to take them?

Tartie, the Goddess of Small Things, is stuck. To help a friend in need, she has to pawn off her Storms ability – the one that shorts out every electronic gadget in range. With no qualified candidates in sight, Tartie resorts to a temporary fix.

It backfires. Badly.

Now there’s a new God of Storms—unhappy, destructive, and definitely not Zeus material—running around London. One of Piccadilly Circus Tube entrances has already tasted his accidental wrath. Tartie’s left holding the thundercloud, wondering if this disaster was exactly what the ever-meddling Ancient Goddess of Fate planned all along.

Helen’s Thoughts: 4/5

I thoroughly enjoy Sky Sommers take on life and her dry sense of humour. The quirkiness is what makes her books fun, as she sees life through a slightly lens and notices things the rest of don’t.

In this novel, Tartie is the goddess with multiple powers. Her favourite power is Small Things, but she also has Storms and Wealth and she has an urgent need to divest two of them to someone else. Only there is no goddess available, and under pressure she hands one of them to her boyfriend with stormy results.

So starts a litany of bad situations which only get worse for poor Cooper who cannot control the power no matter how hard he tries. As a Hemsworth lookalike, I thought the refences to Thor and his hammer were so funny.

You’ll learn lots of things you never knew you needed to know, and many of the goddesses get involved, so you’ll see some old favourites as well, though I must admit Faith is a difficult one to like!

A fun installment in Sommers’ world of goddesses and powers.
